Prof. Adetayo Olorunlana is the Co-Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of Cephas Health Research Initiative Inc. Prof. Olorunlana is a distinguished scholar and practitioner in Medical Sociology and Public Health, with extensive experience in research, policy, and higher education leadership. He serves as a Professor of Medical Sociology and has held key administrative and academic positions at prominent Nigerian institutions, including Caleb University Imota Lagos, where he contributes to advancing social science research and public health initiatives.
Prof. Olorunlana’s research focuses on the social determinants of health, public health inequities, and the sociocultural dimensions of disease prevention and management in African contexts. His work spans critical areas such as maternal and child health, neglected tropical diseases, digital health, community health behaviors, and health systems strengthening. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and policy briefs that inform both local and global health practices. In addition to his academic pursuits, Prof. Olorunlana is recognized for his contributions to capacity building and international collaborations.
He is a fellow of the Centre for African American Research Studies (CAARS) and actively participates in networks that promote evidence-based health policies, research excellence, and cross-disciplinary scientific collaboration.
